SGA Executive Board FA 14- SP15
Secretary Treasurer
Emily Crowley
My name is Emily Crowley, for those of you who don't already
know, I am running for the position of Secretary on the Executive
Board of the Student Government Association for the 2014-2015
academic year. I am a transfer student to Brevard, and have been here
2 semesters. I truly love this school and all the students who attend,
and I can't wait to serve the student body as an executive member of
student government.
I am an Environmental Studies major, hoping to go into the field of
law after graduation. I've found Brevard College has become a second
home to me, and I hope to make it feel that way for other students
through my leadership in student government. Have a great weekend,
and don't forget to VOTE April 1-3 in the cafeteria!
Speaker of the Clubs
Heather Morris
My name is Heather Morris and I'm beyond excited to start out my
second term as speaker of the clubs. I'm really excited to work with
our new members on the executive board. This past year has truly been
a blessing to be able to learn and grow with this previous executive
board. I would like to see more active clubs within our Brevard College
students. I cannot wait to see how all of the new board works together
and excited for the amazing projects that will happen during next year.
As it will be my senior year, it's my last chance to be on SGA. SGA
will be making remarkable strides next year just as we made incredible
strides this year.
Samuel Blakley
Usually, we all have a million different things running through
our heads at a mile a minute, but at this moment I ask you to zero
in on one. 1 want you to focus on the important question that you’ve
been asking yourself ever since you decided to read this article,
“who is Samuel Blakley”. Now in answer to that question. I’ll give
you a basic rundown.
I’ve been described as a number of things ranging from your run
of the mill. All- American average joe, boy-next door, with blond
hair and a beautiful smile, but more importantly I’m the next SGA
treasurer. With labels such as visionary, politician, and mathematical
genius being applied to me on a regular basis you may find yourself
wondering how anyone would be able to do anything other than
want to vote for me.
On a serious note I want to create a more cohesive BC commimity.
I plan to do this by helping fund clubs and encouraging students to
participate in campus activities. My hope is that by advocating for
more student involvement within the college community the SGA
executive board can establish a close-knit bond among the students
that allows them to feel comfortable on campus.
1 have really enjoyed my time here at Brevard and I want to help
ensure that future students have an even better experience. I would
like to see each student who comes here to Brevard to feel at home
and I plan to do that by making BC a more open-minded place. I
will do this through the introduction of a bigger LGBT presence
here on campus, bringing organizations such as a Gay-Straight
Alliance to campus.
Also, I would like to see a push towards more widespread
environmental friendliness. As a member of student government I
have worked in SGA to integrate to a more efficient, widespread
recycling program on campus.
1 have participated in SGA for a year and 1 am familiar with the
proceedings and procedures involved with student government.
My experiences in SGA, along with my time management and
organizational skills will allow me to best facilitate the changes my
platform involves. Obviously, I am the best man for the job.
