Second
Annual
IITBC Day
By Jessica Wiegandt
staff Writer
Brevard College is hosting an all call for
students, staff, faculty and alumni to show
their love and support for the school. This is the
second annual I HEART BC Day and it is filled
with various activities that reflect on how BC
has impacted its students, staff and community
and give back to the College.
This event was created to bring together the
community of BC and allows students to in
teract with faculty and alumni. During the day,
staff will be in the caf telling stories of how BC
has impacted them. Staff will also be accepting
donations to the Brevard Annual Fund, which
impacts scholarships for students.
“I HEART BC Day is primarily a day of
celebration during which all members of the
BC family celebrate Brevard College by giv
ing back time, love and support.” Sara Jerome,
Alumni and Development Specialist for the
college, said.
The BC Greens and BC Serves clubs have
spearheaded the on-campus philanthropy
by hosting a campus beautification project.
Students will meet at Bill’s Boiler Room at
1:30. There will be a litter pick-up along with
a flower planting. The service time is expected
to take approximately one hour.
“This is a great opportunity if you still need
service hours, or just want to make the campus
look nice.” Kate Brandhuber, President of BC
Greens, said, “I’m hoping to see a lot of student
interest come out and serve this school.”
Students and staff have been encouraged
to wear the I HEART BC shirts for this day,
which are available in the Alumni House and
Communications Office. Students are also
encouraged to show college support by post
ing pictures throughout the day that are repre
sentations of what the college means to them,
using the hashtag #IHeartBC and tagging @
brevardcollege.
