Page 4 Arts & Life The Clarion \ March 20, 2019 Movie Review An honest review of 'CaptainMarveT By Bry’Kendrick Moore staff Writer irkirtriT Warning this review will contain spoilers if you haven’t seen the film I’d advise you not read the following review. Over the last few years the film industry has seen a major shift in the content. The era of the superhero is upon us and it is here to stay. At the forefront of the superhero genre seeming to have their formula down to a science is marvel studios. After another flawless set up for what seems to be the end of a four part avengers movie saga. Infinity war prompted yet another hero to be brought into the fold to stop the mad titan Thanos. That hero being the first female main protagonist in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Captain Marvel. Again the setup for bring this character into the film was well worked, but for viewers that are big into comics many question needed to be answered. As one of those who are big into the source material and spend hours doing research on the ins and outs of characters prior to viewings man of those questions were left unanswered. To clarify I didn’t hate the project, I just feel it had more to offer. I left the theater wanting more. 1 felt there was more story to be told and I felt some stories weren’t flushed out all the way. I will say big up to the studio for also creating a storyline that also incorporated dialogue for the social injustices of today. Long story short the head of Starforce wanted to kill off the Skrulls just because they were different then them, sounds familiar huh? The plot twist was a pleasant surprise in the end. If you are going as a casual fan and you aren’t too turned ofifby overpowered characters this is a film for you. It’s filled with plenty of laughs and nostalgic vibes for people who have been there since the beginning of the avengers franchise. All in all solid film and I would recommend 3.5 out of 5 stars.
