Judy Woodruff BC theatre preview The Brevard College Theater Department will be putting on a production of the David Ives play “The Liar” as the first play of the 2019-2020 academic year. Some of the cast will include Anthony Zuniga as Dorante, K’nique Eichelberger as Cliton, Elisabeth Arrona as Clarice and Claudia Dahlman as Lucrece. The play is a comedy that takes place in 1643 during the Renaissance era and is written entirely in verse. In the play, Dorante, a man who cannot tell the truth, meets Cliton, a man who cannot tell a lie, and Dorante hires him to be his servant. Dorante sees Clarice and falls in love with her, but she is engaged to Alcippe. Dorante then sets out to find this woman, but thinks that her name is Lucrece, her best friend. The play will be directed by Elizabeth Kirkland, a visiting director from Alabama. “Everything is connected,” Elisabeth Arrona said. “There is no unimportant part played in this play. Pay attention to everything, because it will come in handy to deciphering this web that has been set before you.” “The Liar” opens Thursday, Sept. 26, at 7 p.m. and plays through Sept. 29. Tickets will be $5 for students and $10 for the general public. MKI-VARIU OI I l-.GI'. lllli.ATRt PliirSt.NT^^ 4-T 1- ' ~ lit# — Zach Dickerson
