May 21, 2020 | The Clarion Class of 2020 Page 11 Experiences Going on VOR! —Erica Zufferey So I have two memories actually. The first memory is when a few of my friends joined me on a trip to Asheville to visit VaVaVooom (yes, that is spelled right). Funnily enough, I had to go there because of a class assignment (look the place up and you’ll see why it’s funny). What could have been just a short visit turned into a whole day adventure where we ate at Mellow Mushroom for lunch and spent hours in Malaprops. I bought a lot of books that day and got to spend a day with some really great people. The second memory is when a group of my friends and I got together to watch the movie “Parasite.” Long story short, it’s an awesome film that will keep you on your toes the entire time so watch it if you want to be amazed. There is a scene in the film that deals with a young boy sneaking downstairs before his birthday and (no spoilers! If you’ve seen the movie you know!) I’m pretty sure everyone else in the village could hear us when we screamed. Once the movie was over, we honored that scene by doodling on the whiteboard in the lobby and we spent hours talking/analyzing this film afterwards. —Alexis Henley One of my favorite moments during my time at Brevard College—working at the library. I have met some incredible people while working there. Also loved the Draq Queen shows. OKAY! *two snaps* Back in May 2018 was the very first time i ever went snowboarding and I was able to do it with my classmates and at no charge thanks to the Outing Club!
