Social Class Influences on Work and Family Life" On llov. 18, as part of its Community Film Series, the People’s Alliance is shOT-7ing a film, IN TI-IE BEST INTEPJESTS OF TilE CHILDREI^I, which explores legal discrimination against lesbian mothers in child custody cases. That same night the Alliance will be showing GROWING UP FEMALE, V7hich looks at the pressures that teach young girls what roles society expects them to play. The films will be shoxm at 8;00 pm in the Wesley Founda tion, on Pittsboro St. behind the Carolina Inn. The Human Sexuality Information and Counseling Service, a student government funded peer counseling service, is as close as the telephone. Their 24-hour number is 933-5505. The services of ESICS are open to all and are free of charge. Many gay men and lesbians have received counseling and information from HSICS peer counselors in the past, and IISICS hopes to continue to provide non- judgmental services to the gay community in the coming year. The IISICS office in Suite B of the UMC-CII Student Union is also the home ’ of the library of the Carolina Gay Association, x^hich contains books, current nexjspapers and magazines, and various pamphlets.
