“ Give me insight into today,”
My world is dark, I grope my way;
I would know the truth, would see the light
And leave the blinding paths of night
To follow on and know the plan
That each day brings anew to man.
I would know myself and what not self,
The true relation, of which the half,
I cannot know, in mortal bound.
But trust to Him, my little round;—
The things I would but yet undone—
In whom the parts are perfected one.
