S..tM£jHL5— Volume I May 4, 1940 Number 14 MAY DAY PROGRMd The Social Committee of Louis- burg College has announced the fol lowing Homecoming and May Day pro gram for this coming week-end* At one-thirty o'clock on Satur day, May 4, on the college athlet ic field, there will be a baseball game between members of the class of '35 and a college team. The May Day fete will be h61d at four-thirty o'clock on the north west campus which is used as an amphitheatre. At six-thirty o'clock class din ners v;ill be held in the college dining hall. Senator D» B. Fear ing, president of the Roanoke Is land Historical Association, has been invited as speaker. From nine to eleven o'clock in the evening the college will be hosts in the college parlors^to students and visiting alumni. On Sunday morning, May 5, at eleven o'clock there will be a special sermon at the Louisburg Methodist Church, Dr, Walter pat ten, President of the College, will fill the pulpit at the re quest of the alumni. An Alumni Diner will be served at one o'clock in the college din ing hall. The May Day program is under the' direction of Miss Ruth Rogers of the Physical Education Department, who is being assisted by Mrs. I, D, Mog>n of the Department of Home Ec onomics, Mr. James E, Byerly of the Music Department, Miss Virginia peyatt of the Department of Speedh, and Mr. J. T. Patrick of the Indus trial Arts Department. WALTER PATTEN ALPHA ^ EPSILON BANQUET The Lamba Chapter of Alpha Pi Epsilon, a National Honorary Sec retarial Fraternity will have its annual homecoming banquet Satur day night at 7:00 in the Franklin County Hotel. A large number of off-campus members are' expected to be present. The toastmistress for the evening will be Miss Nel lie Scott Featherston, of Roxboro, president of the local chapter. Approximately forty members are expected to be present as well as the business faculty who will be guests. This fraternity has only been organized three, years, and it is hoped that many of the old mem bers will be at thl0 reunion#. The theme for May T^ay centers' around an adaptation of Mother Goose Stories by Kathleen Turner and Marguerite Wills.
