pretty wise character, In my
book.
2:30 p.m. Get ready for road
work. Fight off wearing knitted
cap to last ditch. Time to let
Smooth-Face know once and
for all I’m not going to wear that
stupid cap with a baby-string
under my chin like a dope, dope.
Funny how Smooth-Face can’t
seem to get it into her head
what a nuisance that cap is.
PUT THIS POINT OVER TO
DAY!
3:00 p.m. Road-work. In baby
carriage up to the campus, and
hang around, gawking. Notice
yesterday birds flying South.
Keep eye on them. Be sure to
grin at passers-by peeking into
carriage. They seem to get a
kick out of it.
4:15 p.m. Back in the joint at
old Louisburg CoUege.
4:25 p.m. Howling practice, 5
minutes.
4:30 p.m. Nice nap. Play it
straight.
5:20 p.m. Wake up. Nevermind
toys for a while. Figure out
own fingers, 10 minutes. Check
on number of fingers on each
hand, make sure same as yes
terday.
5:30 p.m. Crying. The real Mc
Coy. Otherwise, no supper, the
dirty misers, both of them.
6:00 p.m. Supper. Give them
“Good-Baby” routine tonight.
No squawks. Eat everything, no
matter if it’s squashed-up apri
cots. Idea is make up for last
night. Think I overdid the mean-
nasty stuff at supper last night.
7:00 p.m. Sleep. No hollering.
Sleep. (Just looked over this
plan for day. Rugged. But looks
good.)

ARE YOU INTERESTED
IN A QUEEN?
(AN EDITORIAL)
Heretofore, the election of May
Queen and Maid of Honor for
Louisburg College campus beauties
were not in the annual until the
following year. This was unfortu
nate for the girls elected queen
and maid of honor for they grad
uated from L. C. the year before
their pictures appeared in the an
nual. All of us realize that this
situation should be changed, and
that’s exactly what is planned for
this year. We want the pictures
of the queen and the maid of honor
to be in our annual in the spring
so that in years to come we’ll
know who reigned over May Day
festivities at L. C. in May 1957.
Also, we want to be like other
colleges, for they have their
queen’s picture in the annual the
year she reigns.
When we return from Christ
mas holidays, tUis election will be
held. Only the queen and maid
of honor, who come from the seni
or class, will be elected then. The
other attendants will be elected
later. Think about it and talk
about it in order to get students
interested in this election so that
all the students will vote to back
the girl they want to win.
Also I have a suggestion to make
concerning the way the queen and
maid of honor are elected. Instead
of having the usual kind of elec
tion — pa-ssing out ballots at the
break or at lunch — why not
change to something different?
Wouldn’t you like to see the girl
who’s getting your vote? This is
my suggestion. One morning in.
chapel before the program begins,
have the girls presented to the
