Editor, foreign students will attend Louisburg College this fall repre senting the most diversified foreign enrollment in the school's history; according to Steve Brooks, the admissions director# The foreign students come from as far as Japan, Iran, Lebanon, England, and Thailand. These and other minority group students will represent 10-12 per cent of a total student body of over seven hundred. Mr. Brooks said that about four hundred and thirty Freshmen are es timated to attend Louisburg this fall. Of these, a sum total of about eighty-five per cent are North Carolina residents while the remaining fifteen per cent is largely dominated by students from neighboring Vir- gi nia. Brooks, who is also the financial aid director^said that about fifty per cent of the students enrolled in Louisburg will receive financial aid, but added that although the Federal government has increased their financial assistance to students, it will not affect the number of students who will receive aid in the school. He said, "I do not expect the per centage of students receiving aid in this school to increase dramatically, but students may be eligible for more money in aid." Brooks pointed out that most students do not apply for aid and consequently forsake an oppor tunity they ought to take. He accounted this to the students^presumption that it is hard to qualify for aid. But in contrast, added that money is always there; one just needs to know how to get it. He indicated an intension to publish an informative article on how to get financial aid. When asked whether or not his office would offer financial assistance to the foreign students. Brooks defensively noted,"It's not that we want to discriminate against foreign students but the Government disects that no federal money shall be used as foreign aid." According to him,the college has a full house enrollement this fall.
