The Lady Canes had a 22-3 record this year. They were undefeated in the Eastern Division. The Lady Canes gained the number 1 seed in the Regional Tournament even after the major upset in the Eastern Division Tournament by Peace College. In the Regional Tourna ment, the Lady Canes beat North Greenville in the the first round. In the second round of the tournament against Anderson, the Lady Canes had to play tough defense after two of their starters Clara Faison and An nette Phillips fouled out with only a few minutes left in the game. The Lady Canes were able to hold out and win the regionals 69-68. Canes Put Up Good Fight LOUISBURG DEFEATED By GREG COOPER Spartanburg Methodist eliminated Louisburg 76-60 in the Region X Junior College Tournament. Spartanburg built a 38-29 halMime score and then kept on scoring to their 24tH victory. Rod Lane scored 14 points and James Bittle 13 for Louisburg. Spar tanburg’s, Joe Farrar racked up 21 points as they defeated Louisburg 76-60. Louisburg finished with a 19-12 record. Franklin cap tured first place with a 11-1 record. There was a four-way tie for second place between Kenan, Hillman 1, Hillman 3, and Patton 3. All four had a 7-5 records. The Day Students with 2-10 mark got sixth place and in last place with 1-11 is Patton 2.
