Fiazier Assesses Baseball Team Ski Trip Offered by Mike Sherrod With a regional champion ship behind them and a trip to the NJCAA World Series, the 1987-88 Louisburg College Baseball team is setting its sights on another winning season. “This is the strongest pitching that we’ve had in about seven years,” said coach Frazier. Further commenting on his team’s ability, Frazier expressed optimism regarding their defensive ability. “Our offense has potential, but it’s too early to tell,” he said. Overall, Frazier is very positive about the team’s chances this year. Pitching is his number one goal. He wants his team to continue to work hard. “Strikes mean business,” said Frazier. The baseball team has had a very tough fall baseball schedule this year. Recent victories include Forest, both games of a ^ubleheader with Weslyean, 5-3 and 5-2, and the first game of a doubleheader with Elon 6-3. The team split the doubleheader loosing the second game, 8-2. Following those games, the team lost to N.C. State, 6-3 at State, and then travelled to U.N.C. Charlotte, where they were shut out 5-0. The team also lost 11-0 to Virginia Tech. As a team, the E.R.A. (earned run average) is 4.1, which is good. Total team hitting is 256. To date, the team has compiled eight doubles, one triple, and one home run. Ski French Swiss is offering a Snow Skiing Program to all Louisburg College students January 3-6, 1988.
