ROBBINS LIBRARV L0UIS3URG COLLEGE COLUMNTSr Volume 52 No. 3 March 22, 1995 THE STUDENT VOICE OF LOUTSBURG COLLEGE Louisburg scores big Soccer and tennis teams announced, coaches tapped Louisburg College sports fans will enjoy two additions to Hurricane scoreboards in the fall of '95: men's/ women's soccer and men's/women's tennis. The announcement was made last month and the search for players and coaches has begun. A group of faculty and students have already selected Andrea Lane to coach the tennis teams. She is a graduate of Transylvania College in Lexington, Kentucky where she excelled in post-season play during each of her four seasons. Lane,who teaches at Meredith College part-time, has plans to be gin recruiting immediately. She is looking at high-school teams in North Carolina and Virginia, and is interested in walk-on talent at Louisburg. She foresees a small team of ranked student athletes and is interested in putting together matches in the fall and spring. She is looking forward to the fall when she will be working full time and directing her attention to developing a winning Louisburg tennis program. The search for the new soccer coaches continue. John Conyers is now tak ing names of those inter ested in becoming part of next year's teams.The dead line for sign up is April 6.
