THE STUDENT VOICE OF LOUTSBURG COLLEGE
Louisburg scores big
Soccer and tennis teams announced, coaches tapped
Louisburg College sports fans will
enjoy two additions to Hurricane
scoreboards in the fall of '95: men's/
women's soccer and men's/women's
tennis. The announcement was
made last month and the search for
players and coaches has begun.
A group of faculty and students
have already selected Andrea Lane
to coach the tennis teams. She is a
graduate of Transylvania College
in Lexington, Kentucky where she
excelled in post-season play during
each of her four seasons.
Lane,who teaches at Meredith
College part-time, has plans to be
gin recruiting immediately. She is
looking at high-school teams in
North Carolina and Virginia, and is
interested in walk-on talent
at Louisburg.
She foresees a small team
of ranked student athletes
and is interested in putting
together matches in the fall
and spring. She is looking
forward to the fall when she
will be working full time
and directing her attention
to developing a winning
Louisburg tennis program.
The search for the new
soccer coaches continue.
John Conyers is now tak
ing names of those inter
ested in becoming part of
next year's teams.The dead
line for sign up is April 6.
Second-year Hillman resident Mike McCrory
etches on glass in front of Main. As the
warmer weather approaches, Will Hinton's
classes can be seen all over campus.
