How does it involve you and your parents? The outstanding parents award is sponsored by WAVES and is presented on Parents Day on October 21 in the auditorium. This award is a very special award given to either one or both of your parents. "This award honors your outstanding parents. Even if your parents are not nominated by the committee for this award, your parents will still recieve a notice of your nomination by mail. It's always good to acknowledge our parents and how outstanding they really are," said WAVES advisor Sue Guerrant. In your nominating essay, you should include in your own words why you think your parents should recieve this special award. The deadline for your nominations is Wednes day, October 11 and should be turned in to Sue Guerrant in the Alumni Office. Nomina tion forms can be found in the Ubrary, cafeteria. Alumni Office, Student Affairs, College 101 instructors, or from a present WAVES member or officer. Championships Shadowed with Controversy "Ten" and "Ones" play two to decide On Tuesday, October 3rd, a verdict was made that would make us think about the future, have several up in arms, and leave us with one real ques tion: Who won the softball intramural champion ships? Doc Taylor, spokesperson for the Wrighteous Ones, lodged a complaint with Ervin Williams, in tramural director, during the softball intramural championship game on Monday night. The dispute was over Derrick Daye. who plays for Louisburg's Fall Ball Team. Ten Commandments players were surprised by the appeal, as word of mouth spread to them throughout Monday afternoon. When asked why the officials did not call the game when they noticed the illegal player. Williams said, "It is not our responsibility. 1 can only listen to a protest, discuss it with my assistants, and make the decision." According to a letter issued by Will iams, the teams were rescheduled to play on Thurs day evening minus Daye. Referring to the protest, J.J. Dewar said, "Doc has to take it as he can get it. We know who won the first game." Another "Ten" teammate, Mark Asbrand, said,"This has gone too far. The players are telhng me that this is all Doc's idea." INSIDE COLUMNS...
