Michel Staff Writer College students sometimes don’t realize just how much financial aid is avail able or where to go for information. Louis- burg College offers many types of financial aid, such as grants, scholarships, loans and a work- study program. This aid is given out on a first come, first serve basis. Students should apply for financial aid as soon after January 1, 1996 as possible. However, the forms will be ac cepted through June 1, 1996 for next year. Anna Parrish, the Director of Finan cial Aid, said "the biggest mistake that stu dents make is not applying early." As you may or may not recall, my last ar ticle was on the school's new zero tolerance drug policy. I hope it was informative and enlightening. Bob Dylan once said, "everybody must get stoned.” I asked five of your fel low classmates their opinions on drugs. I was surprised that not one of the people I talked to was in favor of loosening the policy. I hope that this one small group is reflective of the whole student body. Let's see what they had to say. "I think that the drug policy is fine where it stands. If people do the drugs on campus and they get caught for it, I think that they should sufTer the con sequences. They are doing something that is illegal." - Susan Hyndshaw, sopho more "Being the type of person I am about drugs, I feel that the policy should stay as is. Students know if they read the handbook that it's illegal of campus. So, if they're caught then they deserved to be PUNISHED!" - Erica Alston, sophomore "I think that the drug policy at Louisburg is somewhat harsh is some ways. I feel that random drug checks and tests are needed, however, harass ment to students in their dorm rooms becomes old after time. Drug punish ment goes on all over the world, so this should be no different at Louisburg Col lege." - Ross Griffin, sophomore SEE TALK PAGE 6 INSIDE COLUMNS...
