We cannot reason Him as we do geometrical figures, statistical data or scientific proofs Why!* Because He is a Spiritual Being; One of which our carnal minds cannot comprehend. He, who in His perfect form presents complexity and perplexity to the human mind (of which the mind cannot perceive). The only way we can perceive Cod is by reason of faith We reason about Him in much the same manner the poet reasons about his poetry — by emotions, whic h comes though experience. We do not have to prove or test our in tellect. Romans 5;1 tells us that we are justified by our faith Although scientists and some philosophers may disdain believers, there is no condemnation if we are in Christ )esus. (Romans tt:1) Ves, It is true that intellect separates man from beast, but it can also be dangerous. When we allow it do drain us of belief or faith in the very source of our being, then it is of no value We must be like Issac, who held firmly to his belief in God, even though circumstances looked impossible, and like Paul the great biblical scholar, who bent his giant intellect to be used by God. (God used Paul's knowledge in reaching others.) If we allow ourselves to be overtaken by our intellect we are lost and have lost the 'realness" of life, which is faith or hope in the impossible, "for to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace" (Romans 8:6) If we allow ourselves to be overtaken by our intellect, we deceive ourselves into thinking we are intelligent beings, and we are not, but rather fools. (Romans 1:21-22) However, we do not have to be faithful, spiritual dummies, but rather we can use our intellect to effectively win souls to Christ by proclaiming that spirituality (faith in God) does not infer a lack of intellect (II Timothy 2:15) (fltriatian J^ellotoahip WEEKLY WORSHIP 11:00 a m —Sundays in Upendo Lounge.
