Class of 1922 Class of 19Zi Lila Woodward, now Mrs. J. L. Head,, helps her hus band operate the hotel at Cramerton. She is justly proud of both the number and quality of very fine students Cramerton is sending us. Her son will soon be out of service. He has been in Mexico at a proving station for the V-2 rocket. Lila says she is very happy to hear of the progress of Gardner-Webb, and that she hopes the girls will en;oy the new dormitories as much as she and her friends did the old one. Rev. Marion D. Blanton married Lissie Hamrick, Forest City, North Carolina, Box 171. Lissie Hamrick is also a ’22 graduate. Lucy Falls, now Mrs. John Williamson, lives at Shel by, Route 4. Fannie Susan Wright married Halys Moore and is now deceased. Class of 1923 Dr. Allen H. Cash, after completing his work at Boil ing Springs, attended the University of North Carolina where he was graduated. Following this, he received his degree in Dentistry from the Dental School of Emory University. After practicing for several years, he studied a year at the graduate school of Northwestern Univer sity. Since this time he has practiced orthodontics in Charlotte. Dr. Cash married an alumna of Gardner- Webb, Aileen Biggerstaff (’26), and reside at 105 S. Laurel Avenue. They have a son nine years old. C. O. and Edna Blanton Champion of Mooresboro announced the birth of a son on March 6, 1948. Yancey Elliott, of Sanford, was graduated from Wake Forest College in 1927; he was Baptist Student Secre tary at North Carolina State College 1927-1930. He re ceived his Th. M. degree from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, Louisville, Kentucky, in 1933. The same year he married Sarah Lucille Martin of Fayette ville. They have a son, Yancey Jr., who is twelve years old. They reside in Sanford where Yancey is pastor of the First Baptist Church. Grady Putnam, manager of the S & W Cafeteria, 1425 G Street, NW, Washington, D. C., writes, “It af forded me great pleasure to have word from you as to the continued growth of the old Boiling Springs High School, now developed and under the new name of Gardner-Webb Junior College. Our former governor, the Honorable O. Max Gardner, should and will be long re membered for his assistance in making possible this increased opportunity for higher learning to boys and girls of our beloved state. “The sam3 school gave me the opportunity to prepare mysslf for the work that I am now engaged in, and I shall always be grateful.” Maggie Jane Hamrick, now Mrs. Belton Beason, lives at Boiling Springs, where her husband is a prominent business man. Mr. Beason has been one of the great friends of this college. He follows a pattern set by his father, Mr. James Beason, who recently passed away and whose name has been inscribed by the Gardner family in the Book of Memory of Gardner-Webb Col lege as a special tribute to his contributions to this com munity and college. The Belton Beason’s son, Bob, is a G-W graduate and studying pharmacy at the University of N. C. at Chapel Hill. Mr. Fred D. Caldwell, Attorney at Law, Maiden, N. C., was elected in November by the Baptist State Conven tion to our Board of Trustees. Myrtle Allred, now Mrs. Ralph Featherstone, lives at 111 Poplar Street, Belmont, N. C. She has two children, Yolanda, a senior in high school, and Gene a freshman in high school. She writes, “The memories of Boiling Springs are very dear to me. Christ was very real to me there and has been a real friend to me and my family Brucie Mae Barnes is a nurse in the Baptist Hospital, Columbia, South Carolina. Dr. Fred Falls maried Violet Patrick. His offices are in the Professional Building, Shelby, North Carolinna. Donnis Glair Gold, now Mrs. Paris L. Yelton, lives at 414 Beaumonde, Shelby, N. C. Emma Green is Mrs. Ed. Davis and lives at Canton, North Carolina. Ada Hamrick was graduated from Carson-Newman College and married Unie Hamrick of Boiling Springs. Mrs, Hamrick is a fine teacher in the local High School. Mary Jane Jolley is Mrs. L. O. Griffith of Fleming, Kentucky. Gladys Emma McClure married Frank Barnes of Camden, South Carohna. Nora Walker is Mrs. Herman Early, Route 1, Latti- more. North Carolina. Sarah Burnette married Paul Gillespie of Woods- worth, South Carolina. Julia Mae Willis of Spartanburg, South Carolina, married P. H. Connor. Class of 1925 Louise Whitaker married Clifford E. Hamrick (’22) and lives at Boiling Springs, where Clifford is a promi nent business man. He is merchant, has a cotton gin, and various other interests. Clifford and Louise have three children, Ann, a student in the local high school. Buddy, student in the local grammar school, and little Carol Lou, a first grader and pet of the cheering squad of the local High School. Evelyn Jolley, Mrs. John Keenan, of West Friendship, Maryland, is now affiliated with the Social Security Board in Baltimore. Mozelle Biggerstaff, now Mrs. Henry Boseman, lives at Marietta, Georgia. Class of 1926 Addie Pearl Barber is Mrs. D. M. Teague, Concord, North Carolina. Ruby Lucille Buchanan is Mrs. Forest Kelly, Sumter, South Carolina. Mary Calla Clement is a teacher at Chesnee, South Carolina. Charles R. Hamrick is the Educational Director at Boiling Springs Baptist Church, Boiling Springs, N. C. B. B. Harris, Jr. is a farmer. Route 1, Moresboro, N. C. Evelyn Louise Huggins is Mrs. Charles Prince, Lewis ton, North Carolina. Richard Francis Lancaster married Mary Lilia Ham rick, and lives at Dover Mills, Shelby, North Carolina.
