GOOD LUCK BILL
“Parting is such sweet sorrow.
Shakespeare said it and Bill Met
calf quoted it as he was presented a
farewell gift by members of his “B”
Team.
We’re inclined to agree with Bill
a guy who will long bi
i at Gardner-Webb, both
by the students and faculty. He has
been a pal to every boy on
campus, a help to every teacher.
We want to take time her;
wish you all the luck in the world
as you move one step closer to your
goal, Bill.
We’ll miss you.
BACK THE "B'S"
Speaking of the “B” team
minds me. Have you seen them
play??? If not, you don’t know i
you’re missing.
The game with the Cliffside
“Lions” here January 24 was one of
the most exciting seen this year.
The “B” team won the game in the
last minute of play, so you can
imagine what a thrilling game it

finals to compete against the fouri

SPARTANBURG
Did the Spartanburg basketball

minutes had Spartanburg bewilder-

THREE IN ONE
At Appalachian the other night
a little incident occurred that I
thought might interest you.
“Red” Hamrick related this story
to me, so don’t blame me.
It seems Coach Bradburn sent Joe
in at guard position, soon after en
tering the game, a sub came in and
told Joe to shift to center. Joe
went to the center spot, and as play
resumed someone on the bench hol
lered “Joe, shift to forward.”
You would think this would be
enough to unnerve anyone, but Joe
says what really burned him up was
that someone from the .sideline said.
