PAGE FOUR THE PILOT APRIL, 1952 Deputation Team Visits Churches Gardner-Webb’s Deputation Team is completing engage ments on May 4 in fifteen various Baptist Churches. This work is sponsored by the Public Relations Department of the college and Miss Mabel Starnes, Dean of Women, personally plans the program and accompanies the team to the churches. The team has been going out almost every Sunday since fifteenth of February. They have held two week-end reviv als and one week of revival and assisted in another revival for a week. They have held services in the following churches: East Marion Baptist Church, Marion, N. C.; First Baptist Church, Elkin, N. C.; First Baptist Church, Kings Mountain, First Baptist Church, Bessemer City; First Baptist Church, Lincolnton; Front Street Baptist Church, Statesville; Second Baptist Church, Shelby; First Baptist Church, Valdese; First Baptist Church, Cramerton; East A Glance At May Day Previews Yes, it’s springtime once again on the Gardner-Webb campus and time for the annual crowning event of the year, May Day. Definite plans gress toward making this occasion the royal affair that it will be. Miss Morgan and her physical education girls are putting in hours of hard, steady practice in hopes of producing dances which will be pleasing to “her majesty.” Sewing and other signs are prevalent of these busy days of preparation. This year’s May Queen is one of Gastonia’s fair daughters, Joanne Kincaid, better known as “Joby.” Bobby Blackburn, May King and the queen’s attendants and their escorts complete the May Court per sonalities. May Day is scheduled for Satur day afternoon, May 4, in front of the O. The work of the team has been so effective that Mr. Fisher of the Public Relations Department and Miss Starnes have had more requests for the team to come to the churches than they have been able to accept.
