Students Face Busy Season Bravely Term papers, special reports, and projects have their effect on students here at G-W. FVeshmen and sophomores alike show up in the morning with bloodshot eyes, unshaven faces, and horrible dispositions. Complaints about being overworked are also common during this portion of the year. Other popular questions are, “Hey, Grene, how many notecards are ya gonna have?” Another question is, “Donna, have you started on that term paper yfet?” Donna usually answers “not yet” even if she is through with the “thing.” Sophomores were dealt a low blow this year. They have to write two term papers. One group, however, is being permitted to give an oral presentation of their research. This indicates that a laryngitis epidemic may be on the way. Bright Spot There is one bright spot in the future, though, and this is two stlorious weeks away from those miserable rotecards come Christmas vacation. Probably some students will be singing “All I Want for Christmas Is a Twenty Page Theme on ‘The Rise and Fall of Popular Literature Duri’^"' the Stone Age As Revealed by the Cave Drawings on Fred Flintstone’s Bedroom Wall.’ ” Such a request would make the little, fat, jolly old man with the V-8 sled trv hari-kari against t^e side of the nearest ship. But be of good cheer — if you don’t do it now, you can do it in summer school. HAPY Has (Continued from Page 1) When the contest was held No vember 29, pretty Nancy Ann Campbell, cheered on by HAPY residents, captured the crown over 16 other contestants. Last year, Miss Gail Robertson, also a HAPY selection, captured the Gardner-Webb beauty title* and after the second semester ended, went on to win the “Miss Forest City” title and a chance to compete for the “Miss North Carolina” crown. Before the sum mer was out, Gall had captured the “Miss Rhodonderndon” title Poston Quick (Continued from Page 1) can easily see how. our faculty , members can work under fire.” And he added, "... fully sup ported by our maintenance crew . . . and given the backing of our Trustess ...” COLLEGE SNACK SHOP “Student Hangout” Sandwiches A Specialty Boiling Springs, N.
