PAGE 3 THE PILOT SEPTEMBER 9, 1966 Dr. Thurman S. Lewis Chosen New Dean Former Classical Language Professor this year is the Dean of Instruction, Dr. J. Thurman Lewis. Dr. Lewis is not a novice at Gard- ner-Webb. He came to the college in 1964 and served as Assistant Pro fessor of Greek and Speech that year, In 1965-66 Lewis was Assistant Professor of Latin, Greek, and Bible. A native of Webster County, Mis- and then entered the U. S. Army, where he served 18 months in the United States and Italy. After his hitch in the service, Lewis attended Mississippi College where he received the Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in Socio logy and languages. In 1954 and 1960 respectively.
