Considered In Student Activities Action
The Students Activities Com
mittee met on Wednesday, Dec
ember 2, 1970. A Pilot repre
sentative was present. The
following items of discussion
are of interest to students.
The Committee recognized a
need for student involvement.
One matter of discussion con
cerned establishing guidelines
for nominating campus queens.
The Committee would welcome
student opinion on methods of
nominating and electing queens.
Should nominations be made
by the student activities com
mittee and other nominations
by student petitions or should
all candidates be nominated by
petitions?
Another item of business con
cerned a welded structure entit
led “Bulldog” which was given
to the Student Affairs Office
by Mr. James 0. Hamrick, a
local artist. The Committee
discussed the placement of the
“Bulldog.” Student reaction and
opinion on placement, such as
a display case in the “Bull
dog Room” of the Charles I.
Dover campus center or out
doors with a protective covering
are welcomed. The "Bulldog”
is for the enjoyment of the
student body and student opin
ion on a permanent location
for it is requested.
If you have any suggestions
or views on the proper place
ment of the “Bulldog” or on
the procedure for nominating
campus elected queens, stop by
the Student Affairs Office or
contact the “Pilot.”
