This column will appear with each issue and will be representative of the attitudes and thoughts that I have gathered from publication to publication. May I begin by thanking all of the students at GWC so far. Each one has expressed an interest in student government and also many have given bits of encouragement. Writing a newspaper article is not new to me, but being a student body president is, and I am fast learning the system. It is a cruel one and those not involved directly will never really know. I have learned now what former President Riddle meant when he said that you will get walked on and pushed around from the offset to the finish. Nevertheless, we must always continue to look to the brighter side. A new year is starting and there will be new faces, new leaders, new ideas, and hopefully new changes. I’m looking for great moving events to take place that will benefit those who have put their faith in this year’s SGA Hope this year will prove that student life is the key to the success of GWC. Faculty-Student Talent Showcase On August 22, 1973, students and faculty presented to a curious audience their many talents. Max Gardner Building. There were three selected winners from the student talent and one faculty winner. Our judges this year were Mrs. E. Eugene Poston, Mrs. Jerry Walker, Mrs. J.
