Keith transferred from
Wingate Junior College at
the end of his sophomore
year because he wanted a
“good, Christian educa

pressed with the caliber of
the school and its Religion
Department. The main fac
tor, however, in his decision
was “the guidance of the
Lord.”
Keith plans to attend
Southeastern Seminary in
the fall after working as a
youth director in a church
this summer. After that, he
hopes to “go into the full
time pastoral ministry being
in the will of the Lord.”

he felt the Lord was calling
him into Christian service

“I really appreciate Gard

more meaning to life; a lot
more purpose than I ever
found before.”

Wednesday night’s revi-
SGA election results tabulated
RICK MARTIN
Recently, elections for
SGA offices were held. The
following students were
elected to positions: Bill
Baucom, president; Debbie
Hall, vice-president; Mackie
Sinclair, secretary; Sherry
Setzer, treasurer; and John
Linderman, student center
board chairman.
As the new SGA Presi
dent, Bill Baucom made the
following comments. “First
of all, let me say thank you
to all those who supported
me in the election. Secondly,
let me say that I really feel
that the newly elected offi
cers of the SGA for next
year are going to be com
mitted to working for you
(the students).
“I feel that next year has
the potential to be the great
est year ever for Gardner-
Webb. I feel that student in
volvement with both admin
istrators and faculty is one
of the keys to having a suc
cessful year,” he stated.
“Great strides have been
made towards bettering the
atmosphere at Gardner-
Webb; but I feel that much
more can be done.
“One of my wishes next
year is that students will
work for students. Next
year I want to work my
hardest for the students and
what they want as a student
body and together I feel
with their cooperation we
can have a great year.”
Rick Trexler, the outgoing
SGA President said, “These
newly elected Student
Government officers are all
of high caliber and are will
ing to work hard next year.
Only with the support of the
whole student body can any
thing be accomplished.
“Student Government has
come a long way in the past
few years. Now, more than
ever, is the voice of Student Mr. Tom McGraw stated
Government heard. This is that “each officer has a con-
the voice of all students tribution to make and I feel
through these officers. ’ ’ that they will do it. ”
Search Committee
needs students
Dr. Robert Lamb, faculty representative for the Trustees’
Search committee for a new college president, has expressed
a desire that students indicate their ideas of what qualifica
tions the new President should have.
Mr. R. Patrick Spangler, chairman of the search com
mittee, has requested that Dr. Lamb work with Rick Trexler
to present opinions of the student to the committee.
“We are concerned first of all,” says Mr. Spangler, “to
know what students believe are the qualifications needed by
the person who will be President. We would like to have
those suggestions by Tuesday, April 6, if possible. Later, we
will be happy to consider any specific names students may
recommend.”
“I feel my purpose,” says Dr. Lamb, “is to clearly trans
mit to the committee whatever the students choose to tell
me.”
Any student who has a suggestion should forward it to
Dr. Lamb or to Rick Trexler.

gion major from Marshville,
