The Pilot, page 4 Soon to be Released By Russ Willieuns Can dreams come true? Just ask Jimi Ray, a recent GWC graduate. The answer you will most likely receive is "yes"... and "yes". Jimi's dream of becoming a big-time Christian musician is being realized more and more every day. And, from that dream stems his latest album, "Dreams Come True." "Jimi writes and performs all original music with topics such as peer pressure, relationships, falling in and out of love, being "real", dedicated, committed Christianity, and more." While at Gardner-Webb, he was known to have written many songs each day, whether he was alone in his room or in one of his Religious Education classes. Now is your chance, Gardner-Webb, to come out and hear one of Christian music's hottest rising stars. On Tuesday night, Jimi Ray will bring his state-of-the-art sound and light to the Kathleen Dover Theatre. Traveling with him will be Rick Harwell, who adds much to this ministry with his keyboards and synthesizers. Together, "they combine acoustic guitar with computerized dnms, bass guitar, and other instruments to form what they call 'synthesized rock'." "I see the need to express many thoughts to my audience," says Ray. "My faith is strong and my main objective is to share my faith with my audience. My songs are about real life, real situations, and real people. The lyrics are not 'watered down'— I basically communicate what I feel." So be sure not to miss this exciting S.E.A. concert November 28th, Admission is free with your Gardner-Webb I.D.
