Funny Man Don Reed
Don Reed To Appear

Don Reed is a busy man and after com
pleting both TV and film projects, Don
snows no signs of slowing down.
Selected among the many who audi
tioned, Don was chosen to perform on The
First Annual Showtime Comedy Festival.
His performance caught the eye of both Bill
Cosby and Malcolm Jamal-Warner. Cosby
put his writers to work, and they came up
with a script written around a character
Don performs in his stand-up. He was
flown to New York and guest starred in the
season finale of The Cosby Show.
After winding down an active season as
the recurring character, Chip St. Charles on

A Different World. Don went to work on
last summer’s CBS series The Beach Boys
Rndless Summer.
In addition to those appearances, Don
was featured on the Robert Townsend
HBO Specials: "Partners in Crime" Parts
III and IV. In Part III he created, wrote, and
acted in his own segment entitled "The Twi-
Laff Zone." His performance in the special
inspired Cherry Coke to use Don as this
character in a national television campaign.
With the feature film Hollywood Shuffle
under his belt, Don will star in War Danc
ing. a film choreographed by Paula Abdul
that will be released later this year.
Don’s scholastic explorations went from
religious training to chiropractic school to
speech classes to forensics to drama—Then
he discovered comedy!
Having found his niche, Don worked on
creating a comedy routine that was original.
"I wanted my act to be squeaky clean. So
many people depend on dirt—but to have an
audience completely won over and rolling
with a clean show is a lot more difficult and
a lot more powerful!"
On the road, Don is one of the most
powerful comedians on the college circuit.
The Student Entertainment Association in

Dover Theater!

contact with the agents of these bands, we
found that they were unable to work with
the April 20th date. At the time of the sur
vey, we were informed that each of the
bands listed had possible openings. Thanks
again for your help! We think that our
chosen band, "The Cast of Beatlemania,"
will leave a certifiable mark on this cam
pus!
