GWU celebrates
Christ during week-
long crusade
by Julianne Kuykendall

Gardner-Webb had the privilege of host
ing an area "Celebration for Christ" Crusade
with Bill Glass during the week of October 31
through November 7.
Glass, a former All-American at Baylor
University and All-Pro defensive-end for the
Cleveland Browns, is in much demand as a
speaker and is nationally known for his minis
try to prisoners, where his message on winning
'Your sole job is not to be a moral

attitudes has changed countless lives.
His positive attitude toward winning pre
sented itself in his sermons, during Dimen
sions, and explosively during his bold "pep
talk" to Gardner-Webb's football team at the
close of Friday night's service.
Gardner-Webb students involved them
selves dramatically in preparation for and dur
ing the Crusade. Students prepared for the
celebration by participating in the "Concert of
Prayer" led by Campus Ministry Intern,
Suzanne Reece. At this concert, students prayed
fervently for the Crusade that God would
move in a mighty way on the campus of
Gardner-Webb and in the lives of it's students.
A Phone-a-Thon allowed students to call
local church groups and individuals of Boiling
Springs and the surrounding area to come be a
part of the Crusade.
Leslie Whitney trained 30 students to be
counselors, which represented nearly 30% of
the entire body of Crusade counselors. All 30
of Gardner-Webb's counselors were needed
on Youth Night, where 105 youth made deci
sions for Christ
Bill Glass graciously received and re
sponded to student's questions at the weekly
Fellowship of Christian Athletes on Thursday
night.
When asked his opinion on how students
could effectively witness to the college peers,
Bill Glass said, "Your sole job is not to be a
morality policemen. Your job is to present
Jesus Christ to them."
