Visitation is a very strong topic among students on the campus. The SGA Executive Officers along with the Stu dent Senate are listening to the concerns and conveying the will of the student body. Senior Class President Richard Ambrose, during a call for new business, made the mo tion for extended visitation on the weekends and was seconded by Senior Class Senator Donnie Mitchem. The hours placed on the floor were as follows: Fridays 3:00 -12:00 a.m. Saturdays 12:00 - 12:00 a.m. except during home foot ball games and Sundays 1:00 - 10:00 p.m. Discussion took place on the floor among senators, class officers, and Student Govern ment Executive Officers on the advantages and the disadvantages of increased visitation for our campus community. The executive officers met on Wednesday November 3 and voted on the visitation policy presented from senate and approved unanimously. They are passing the legislation to the E. Jerome Scott, dean of student development as a letter of recommen dation, with the backing of both Student Sen ate and the executive officers. see Visitation page 5 New Visitation Policy as proposed by the Student Senate Friday 3:00-12:00 a.m. Saturday 12:00 p.m. - 12:00 a.m. Sunday 1:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m. GWU celebrates Christ during week- long crusade by Julianne Kuykendall staff writer Gardner-Webb had the privilege of host ing an area "Celebration for Christ" Crusade with Bill Glass during the week of October 31 through November 7. Glass, a former All-American at Baylor University and All-Pro defensive-end for the Cleveland Browns, is in much demand as a speaker and is nationally known for his minis try to prisoners, where his message on winning 'Your sole job is not to be a moral ity policeman. Your job is to present Christ to them." Bill Glass attitudes has changed countless lives. His positive attitude toward winning pre sented itself in his sermons, during Dimen sions, and explosively during his bold "pep talk" to Gardner-Webb's football team at the close of Friday night's service. Gardner-Webb students involved them selves dramatically in preparation for and dur ing the Crusade. Students prepared for the celebration by participating in the "Concert of Prayer" led by Campus Ministry Intern, Suzanne Reece. At this concert, students prayed fervently for the Crusade that God would move in a mighty way on the campus of Gardner-Webb and in the lives of it's students. A Phone-a-Thon allowed students to call local church groups and individuals of Boiling Springs and the surrounding area to come be a part of the Crusade. Leslie Whitney trained 30 students to be counselors, which represented nearly 30% of the entire body of Crusade counselors. All 30 of Gardner-Webb's counselors were needed on Youth Night, where 105 youth made deci sions for Christ Bill Glass graciously received and re sponded to student's questions at the weekly Fellowship of Christian Athletes on Thursday night. When asked his opinion on how students could effectively witness to the college peers, Bill Glass said, "Your sole job is not to be a morality policemen. Your job is to present Jesus Christ to them." Inside Senate meets with a full agenda by Kevin Bess staff writer Many things were accomplished at the last senate meeting, with all members being present Senator Tina Duncan reported that the constitution committee met on October 25. Students will be given a chance to express any concerns and offer any suggestions for im proving the constitution during a forum sched uled for November 15 at 8 p.m. in the DCC Board Room. Constitution Forum: Monday, November 15 8:00 p.m., DCC Banquet Hall She stressed that this would not be a debate. It will be an exchange of ideas between students and members of the SGA and the Student Life Committee. Senator Beverly Cooper came forward with the food committee report.
