Look up, look out.
It’s not a warning or an alert for more
snow. The theme of Celebration Week
caught the idea of having strong vertical
and horizontal relationships.
Andy Byers, director of student min
istries, explained it as“looking up to God,
and then understanding God [is] calling
us to look out to others, expressing His
love to them.”
Celebration Week began at 7 p.m.
Monday in Dover Theatre.with Laurie
Pinkert’s challenge to be a part of what
God is doing now. It continued during
the Dimensions hour on both Tuesday
and Thursday, with services at 6 p.m.

Wednesday. The week ended Thursday
night with Pamela Darnell’s testimony
encouraging us to pray for our brothers
and sisters around us rather than trying to
perform service as Christians.
Tracy Jessup, minister to the univer
sity and Gardner-Webb alumnus, stated
that Celebration Week has been going on
at least since he was a freshman here in
1985. His hope is that it will plant an
“enduring passion to Christ” in all stu
dents who attend. Though organized
mostly by Byers and Jessup, the revival
was designed for, and is led annually, by
