Gardner-Webb had little, if any trouble,
handing the Clark-Atlanta Panthers their first
loss of the season. In a game that saw GWU's
William Andrews move into third place on the
school's all-time receptions list and set a school
record of having at least one catch in 30 consec
utive games, ended 45-0 on Saturday night.
After allowing only one yard on the
Panthers first drive, sophomore quarterback,
Nick Roberts, led the Bulldogs 42 yards in three
plays. Roberts found Andrews in the end zone
for a 13 yard score and a 7-0 lead. A one-yard
run by Chris Foster later in the quarter capped a
27-yard drive and took a 19-0 lead to the second
quarter.

The National Collegiate
Athletic Association enforce
ment staff released its 22-
page Notice of Allegations
against Gardner-Webb to
President Campbell on
Wednesday Aug. 27.
The Notice of Allegations
is an official document that is
sent to an institution follow
ing any NCAA investigation;
the findings stem from an
investigation conducted on
campus during the past year.
An email from Matt
Webber, director of universi
ty communications, was sent
to staff members late
Wednesday and stated that
the notice had been given to
the university.
The email, however, did
not include a list of the find
ings and was not sent to the
student body.
In the email, Campbell
said he was not surprised
about the NCAA’s findings
because the university has
cooperated fully with the
NCAA throughout the inves
tigation.
The next steps for the
university include a response
to the NCAA Infractions
Committee regarding the
findings by mid-October. The
infractions committee will
meet in mid-December, pos
sibly to determine appropri
ate punishments for the uni
versity.
Scott Larson, assistant
athletic director for compli
ance, said he is not allowed to
release any information with
out Campbell’s permission.
Campbell was unavail
able for comment.
