ner-Webb soccer field, the men’s team hon
ored their fallen teammate Jordan Traylor
during the Bulldog’s senior night on Satur
day. The Bulldogs lost to Appalachian State
4-2.
Head coach Tony Setzer, along with
President Frank Bonner, and Chuck Burch,
officially retired the number 16 jersey that
Traylor wore during his 2003-2004 tenure
as a Gardner-Webb Bulldog.
“I’m happy with the effort of the guys,
we probably got a little stretched and when
we got down, we pan- icked a little bit,” said
Setzer. “This loss isn’t the end of the world
but it isn’t what we wanted to happen to
night.”

taineers bounced back in the next minute to
level the affair.
The game remained tied at 1-1 going
into halftime yet the tides were changing in
favor of the Mountaineers.
With senior defender Jordan Gaines on
the ground due to an injury, Appalachian
State was able to capitalize on the GWU
team playing a man down as forward Ty
ler Reagan found the back of the net to put
GWU in a 2-1 deficit.
The physical aspect of the game dra
matically changed after the controversial
goal, as a yellow card was given to a player
of each team. However, GWU gave up two
more goals before the evening was over.
Despite being down 4-1, the, Runnin”
Bulldogs gave it their all in the closing min-,
utes. Jovan Ivanovich found the back of the
net with a header in the 74th minute to makg
the game 4-2, -the final score. Sophomore,
Richie Wall assisted the goal.

ary Hoax.

In the recent past, Webb

Webb’s research was not
done in vain. In fact, he has
molded his research into a
book and is currently decid
