Netiers Down Pembroke,
Doubles Teams Sweep
The tennis squad rolled to its
third victory in four matches by
beating the Pemboke Braves by
a 6-3 margin. The sole loss of
the season was registered to
Campbell’s tennis troupe.
In the singles matches, the top
three men for SA were victorious
while the bottom three on the
ladder dropped their contests.
Vann Taylor remained undefeated
by slamming past Ray Goldberg,
2-6, 6-3, 8-6. “Moon” Mullins
is the only other Knight undefeated
this year. The Number 3 man,
Harry Kraly, also entered the
winning ranks with an easy win
Bob Brewbaker, Scott McCrea,
and Charlie Guggenheimer, play
ing in the 4th, 5th, and 6th spots
respectively, were unable to out*
paddle their Pembroke opponents.
In the doubles, St, Andrews made
a clean sweep and clinched the
match, Taylor and Mullins were
victorious over the Braves’ num
ber one doubles combination.

their opponents as did Brewbaker
Coeds Compete
St, Andrews’ first Miss Mardi
Gras contest, sponsored by the
freshman class, will take place
'‘on-stage” at 10:30 p.m. in the
cafeteria tomorrow night.
Approximately twenty-five St.
Andrews coeds will vie for the title,
"Miss Mardi Gras.”

Grant Sharp’s men go on the road
tomorrow against Lynchburg and
Tuesday they meet Atlantic Chris
tian College on home courts.
Thinclads Split. Top UNC-C, Lose To Braves
Pembroke and UNC—Charlotte
met St, Andrews on the track this
past Wednesday in a tri-meet. The
Pembroke squad won easily with
SA finishing second, followed by
Charlotte.
Of the 14 events Pembroke cap-

victorious weekend.

St. Andrews golfers now have a
four-match winning streak going
for them with Monday’s win over
Atlantic Christian.
In fact, the golfers haven’t lost
a match since the opening heart-
breaker taken by Wilmington,
14 1/2 to 12 1/2.
The record thus far runs as
follows: defeated UNC-Charlotte,
25 1/2 to 1 1/2; defeated College
of Charleston, 20 to 7; defeated
UNC-Charlotte, 25 to 2; defeated
Atlantic Christian, 20 to 7,

veling spree today against Camp
bell College, followed by a dual
meet on April 8 with Atlantic
Christian and High Point; and ano
ther two-way tussle on AprU 10
against Lynchburg and Methodist
College.

Sandy Dew and Wayne Johnson
led the Sea Hawks in the free-
swinging game. Wilmington scored
in sprees. They made six in the
second and in the seventh. They
iced the cake with five more runs
in the final inning.
Ray Crawford, Jimmy Timmons
and hurler Stu Dodson wielded
big bats for SA with two hits
apiece. Kell Gay was on base
five times with four walks and
an infield error. The Knights*
biggest inning was the sixth when
they pushed four tallies across the
plate.
While Dodson was pitching, he
let in nine runs and struck out
five while walking three. Wil
mington shelled Gary Miller and
John Everett for the last twelve
scores.

In the mile event, Jim Smith
was bettered by Brown of Pem
broke, who ran 4:29.4 mile. John
Walker placed fourth in the event.
Brown also caputed the 2-mile

Clubs To Submit Tentative Budget
The Student Association must
submit a tentative budget to the
Senate before the end of this school
year. Because of this proceedure,
it is necessary that all organiza
tions submit their tentative budgets
to the treasurer of the Student
Association as soon as possible.
