mination and improvement
since the beginning of the
Spirit and determination, in
fact, are two strong assets of
the young team. All seven
young ladies, Judy Baxter,
Diana Jones, Melanie Wrenn,
Kelly Aker, Amy Heavner, Bar
bara Caras, and Evelyn Short,
work well together and have
gained friendships with each
other as well. Thus, the founda

Coach Williams is the backbone
of the team and she instills
determination in its members.
Through the coach’s guidance,
the enthusiastic young ladies
see themselves not as novices
but as intercollegiate athletes
with a strong will to be suc
cessful. Though the team’s
record has not been a winning
one, the team has indeed been
successful and the team shows
great promise for the future.
The foundation for a superior
women’s tennis team at St. An
drews has been established.
With its great spirit and deter
mination, the team will soon be
one victorious in record as well
as in energy and enthusiasm.
