Latest News on The Dreamerz
By Wendy Kimpton
The Dreamerz played to a small but energetic group of St. Androids
at Albemarle's Bounce Your Panties/Boxers Off the Stage Party. Several
students then followed the
band to the Ramada Inn in Lumberton
two weeks later for another high-powered performance.
For the past few months the band has been laying tracks for their first
single "Goodbye," a one-sided 45, which should be released any day now.
song is slow and mellow, perfect for dancing, with just enough percussion, bass
whining guitar to make it a good rock tune. The band has promised to keep in touch
with St. Andrews which it considers one of its best audiences ever.

Odds and Sods

Newsbreak: Lance sources
in Washington say that the
President indeed believes that
three out of every four Americans
make up 75% of the nation's
populations! And you thought the
former actor was getting senile.
Here's an interesting bit of
trivia to tease your friends with:
Former Monkee Michael Nesmith's
mom allegedly invented liquid
paper! (Probably would have come
in handy for those clever Monkee
songwriters). Oh well, no use
crying over spilled milk.
According to a recent issue
of Sports Illustrated, former Gy
Young award winner Denny McLain
is as dedicated a writer as he was a
ballplayer and drug user. He's
writing in jail. Gotta hand it to that
guy, huh?
I would like to take this
moment to commend today's
administration (especially Ron "oh
boy is your son cute" Reagan) for
honesty and openmindedness.
Thanks guys, keep up the good
work.
Oh, and let us not forget
about the flawless work of the
C.I.A.. Doesn't it make you fee!
good knowing that they're on our
side.
Sugar Ray Leonard is
making a comeback. Now I can only
speak for myself, but if I had several
million dollars, a huge house, and a
beautiful wife and kids, you'd better
believe I'd want Marvelous Marvin
Haglerto punch meintheface...
...Let's hope we all can get
back to work after huddling around
our televisions praying for the
return of the beloved America’s
cup. Hoo boy, was that ever
exciting.
Rumor has it that a few of
the dedicated are petitioning to see
that North Carolina basketball
games will be telecast on five
separate networtcs simultaneously.
What a relief! You can never be too
careful about the occasionally
imperfect St. Andrews cable
system...
Pop artist Andy Warhol,
who turned images of Campbell's
soup cans into modern art, died
earlier this week of heart failure.
The main question seemed to be
exactly how old he was. Reporters
speculate that he was 58...
As the spring term is upon
us, as well as all the pressures that
accompany it, let us all take refuge
in knowing that the Star Search
finals are just a few short weeks
away...
Until then, adieu.
