Lady Knights De- Lady Knights Suffer ^ggt Greensboro Conference Losses ^ „ Carolyn Moore Carolyn Moore The Lady Knights lost two confer ence tennis matches on March 25 and 26 to Christorphor Newport College and Vir ginia Wesleyan. The sore of the match against Chris- tophor Newport 6-3 with two wins in singles going to Kristi Kluegel 6-3,6-1 and Carolyn Moore 6-3,6-3. The only St. Andrews win in doubles went to the number two team of Karen Kessinger and Lissa Norton 7-6,6-2. In the match against Virginia Wesleyan the team lost 8-1. The only win went to the number one doubles team of Kristi Kluegeland Judy Baxter6-4,7-6(10- 8). 6-3. According to Coach JoAnn Wil liams “The more we play the better we get I think everybody’s strokes are getting better, we just keep getting beat. When tournament time come we should be play ing well.” St Andrews Presbyterian College women’s tennis team defeated Greensboro College on March 22 6-3. Kristi Kluegel scored singles win by forfeit, Judy Baxter won 6-2,6-0; Karen Kessinger 7-5,6-0; and Beth Powell 6-3,6- 4 in singles matches. The number one doubles match was forfeited to St. Andrews. Kristi Kluegel and Lissa Norton won the number two doubles match 6-2,6-1. In an earlier match on March 14 at Averett College in Danville, Va. St. Andrews lost 5 matches to 4. In singles Kristi Kluegel won 6-3, 4-6,6-2; Carolyn Moore 6-2,6-0; and Beth Powell 6-1,6-4. The only win in doubles went to Dawn Guthrie and Laurie Clark 0-6,6-3, 6-2. “We should have beaten Averett, but I am estatic over the fact we beat Greensboro,” Coach JoAnn Williams said. “Some people won that had not won a match before,” she added.
