Just a short note to let you all know how things are pro gressing in Beijing. This year's group has been very active, both in classes and the community. There are ten students in this year's group. Our fac ulty advisor is Dr. Tom Wil liams of the History Depart ment. We are divided be tween two 100 level Chinese classes, except for Todd Jones, who is at the 150 level. Classes are divided into three sections-written, oral, and grammar. Everyone is doing well thus far in classes. We are also enrolled in a Culture class which meets one a week. Topics covered in this class include geography, education, po litical structures, and his tory? Our speakers are Chi nese professors from vari ous universities and re search institutes. It is a great way to Icani about the soci ety in which we have be come immensed. The group has done a good deal of traveling, both within Beijing and outside the city. One imp>ortant St. An drews group endeavor is hosting the first annual "Ganza Abroad."
