"Coach Wiliams taught me
everything I know about

about any award I might
get, but this one is special
because it is, in a way, a trib
ute to her and her work. It is
a way that I can honor her,"
said Biagioli.
Biagio!' stated chat Wil
liams has been a primary
influence in her life, on and
off the court. "Coach Wil
liams taught me to never
give up, no matter what.
She was very wonderful
and inspirational, and
taught me to always strive
for the best," she said.
St. Andrews has featured
several outstanding teams
since Biagioli's first year, but
in her senior season she
found herself on as team
that managed to win only
four matches. Biagioli ad
mitted that the transition
was difficult, and she knew
she would have to assume
leadership responsibilities.
"I really didn't feel any pres
sure. Getting people fired
up, and getting the team
motivated is part of my per
sonality," she said. "I feel
comfortable taking charge."
Biagioli was also named to
this year's Carolinas Confer
ence All-Toumament Team,
which was hosted by St.
Andrews in the name of
JoAnn Williams. "The fact
that it was in her name really
gave me motivation," said
Biagioli. "She always told
me that if I had determina
tion, worked hard, and was
a team player, then good
things would come my way.
And she was right."
