Editor After months of reviewing resumes and applications, the Physical Plant Office has recently named Bobby Simpson the new Director of Internal Affairs and Public Relations. The choice was no suprise to Simpson who knew that a college educa tion, coinciding work experi ence, and having a tooth missing were great creden tials for the job. Simpson sees the Physi cal Plant as an excellent opportunity to put to use his practical managerial skills. He also feels that the Physi cal Plant has the potential of keeping maintenance at a quality that the students will appreciate. Simpson's three main goals for general Physical Plant improvement are 1) Every worker must speak proper English, 2) Every worker must wear a coat and tie, and 3) Every worker must carry a briefcase at all times. "It is a fabuolous emo tional rush to realize that after 95.654% of my intellec tually stimulating college career that I would obtain a challenging and exhileratinq position." Simpson also added that he was looking fonward to the power that the job would entail and if things got rough, he would knock out another tooth. St. Andrews is equally looking forward to the pres ence of Mr. Simpson. Dean Greer also expressed her appreciation for Bobby ac cepting the job after being accepted and turning down Yale Law School. Greer also feels that the addition of Bobby could only improve '• the general maintenance condition of the campus. SPEED ON BUMPS TO BE PUT CAUSEWALK By Chad Esposito Asst. Editor Recent complaints by pe destrians about being hit by tiicycles on the causewaik prompted the Dean of Students to look into the Wssibility of having speed wmps installed. The pro posal would mean two or three speed bumps, equally spaced, on the causewaik so bikers would not be allowed to drag on the strip. The Dean also emphasized that sometimes students do get a little crazy, especially Spring Term, and sometimes try to drive across the cause waik. She feels that the pres ence of the speed bumps might inhibit the possibility. The Dean pointed out that installation of the speed bumps is a measure purely for student safety, as are all rules. "The causewaik straddles the lake. If a pedes trian is walking on the cause waik and has to jump out of the way, there is no telling what could happen. The pedestrian would either suf fer injury or would have to jump into the lake and pay a fifty dollar fine.” After viewing the proposal, President Reuschling backed the Dean's decision and saw the speed bumps as a top priority project. Reuschling also warned the wheelies in L.A. to slow down because if any further injury or excessive speeding oc curs, speed bumps in L.A. could become a reality. The Student Senate dis cussed the pros and cons of the issue and agreed upon the necessity.
