Myers -Squibb in New York.
The multi-lingual Roy (she
speaks Indonesian, Malay and
Mandarin) manages the

sues. “In short,” Roy said, “my
job is making sure that how the
company conducts its business is
in tune with social expectations
and global trends so we continue
to remain competitive. ”Over the
last year she has been managing
a strategic companywide project
to develop a business plan to ad
dress the emerging women’s
health market.
Roy said that she had always
been interested in international
affairs but initially thought she
could only pursue this interest
through a career in the United
Nations. While in graduate
school at Tufts University,
where she received her Master of
Arts in Law and Diplomacy, a
class she was taking covered the
ways that the private sector uti
lized international affairs ana
lysts.
However, Roy did work for
the United Nations for two years
before joining Bristol-Myers-
Squibb as the project
manager in the
Economic, Social Development
and Human Rights Programs Di
vision.

On Sunday October
25,1995 St. Andrews conducted
its first IssuesForum over the
internet. This forum is used so
students can voice their opinion
on certain issues. As a part of
the Philosophy of Mass Commu
nications class, students estab
lished a computerized forum
through the notice board function
in PEGASUS Email.
The effect of the forum was
unique. Responding to the issue
of quiet hours, nearly 20 people
voiced their opinions on how
quiet hours should be imple
mented at the college. As it reads
now, the Saltire states that quiet
hours are supposed to be from
11p.m. to 9a.m. Sunday through
