Danny. Picture coutesy of Communications. Dear St. Andrews Community, Throughout my years at St. Andrews, 1 have found and learned that our individual voices, opinions and thoughts are crucial and an important tool that should be utilized. It is like Gandhi once stated, “You must be the change you wish to see in the world.” 1 believe that our voices, thoughts and opinions are the first steps in making a difference. The Lance staff and I value these words because our newspaper. The Lance, encourages further communication within the St. Andrews community. While The Lance will still serve as forum for student, faculty, and staff ideas, we will be undergoing new projects to help serve the St. Andrews community. Additionally, each month. The Lance staff and I will be engaging in community service projects. in hopes of helping not only our community, but the Laurinburg community as well. Furthermore, while The Lance is progressing with each issue, I am always open to new ideas or suggestions. Therefore, I have created a survey that can be picked up within the Communications Office (LA 148), Vardell, Health and Wellness and Office of Student Affairs. I am always looking for new ways to enhance each issue and to inform our community about events that are occurring. Along with the new survey, if there are announcements that anyone would like to have published within the Announcement section, you can now fill out a form that can also be picked up. All completed surveys and announcement forms can be placed in The Lance box in Communications. While the semester has just begun, I would like to take the time to invite any students who are interested in the Editor- in- Chief position of The Lance for the 2007-2008 academic year to begin the application process. Lastly, I would like to thank everyone for their continued support of The Lance. The Lance would not exist without the diverse article contributions made by the St. Andrews community. The article submissions enhance The Lance and our community; therefore, further providing communication and dialogue between faculty, staff, and students alike. I would like to encourage anyone who would like their voices heard to submit articles to The Lance. If there are any questions or concerns, feel free to contact me via email at Heiderda@.sapc. edu.
