His name is Billy Lee. His coaching c£ireer includes Campbell University, UNC- Pembroke and East Carolina. During his eighteen years at Campbell, he was named “Coach of the Year” three times in two conferences and set a school record for most wins in a season during the 1991-92 season with the Fighting Camels since the program joined NCAA, Division 1 level. Backing that experience are a Bachelor of Arts degrees. Bachelor of Science in Physical Education and Master of Arts degree. He also has published two successful books on basketball strategy, ““The Flex Offense” and “Attacking the Zone,” and has been featured on ESPN, CBS, NBC, and ABC as well as being quoted in publications like Sports Illustrated. Coach Lee carries an optimistic viewoftheKnightsandthere potential as a team, stating, “1 am proud of the effort that these young men have put forth. They are learning and are on their own timeline of development, but 1 know that they are going to be a really good team that is hard to play against.” He sees the team’s major weaknesses as “lack of height and, of course, rebounding. With injuries befalling our post players, it has made it difficult to progress at a timely manner.” 1 lowever, he offers that “there have been moments that we have shot the ball extremely well and we hope to build on that success.” With that understanding, he sees a young team with great potential. He says, “We’re a young team laced with many freshmen and sophomores which bodes well for Team Statistics Alex Mathews wrestling his opponent. Picture cour tesy of Rooney Coffman.
