CAMPUS CLASSIFIEDS
• Have an eye for interesting stories? Want to share your
perspective with the campus on a topic important to

• The Pipe Band is looking for student to fill vacancies in
the percussion section. No previous experience neces
sary, but the ability to read music or a good sense of
rhythm are helpful. For further information, contact
Bill Caudill (bill@sapc.edu or 5236).
• The softball team is still looking for cinder blocks for use
in the construction of dugouts for the field. They have
collected approximately 50 so far and need 900 to com
plete the process.
• Anyone interested in trying out for the varsity wresding
team should go and meet up with coach Joe Baranik.
His office is in the PE Center.

Recap is here to fill in the gaps. Here’s a bit of what you
may have missed since the last issue.
• Thursday, April 28: Senior Art Show Reception —
Members of the St. Andrews community and some
fiiends and family came out in support of SAPC art stu
dents and enjoyed looking at their art, while having fiin
listening to music and socializing. It was a BYOB event.
• Saturday, April 30: Martial Arts Competition — The
sporting event lasted from 8:00am- 5:00pm in the main
gym in the PE Center. And, students with a valid college
ID were admitted free of charge.
• Sunday, May 01: IDA National Championships —
Lindsey Agaliotis represented SAPC at the IDA National
Championships in Newberry, Fla., and she placed sixth in
the upper training division.
• Monday, June 20 - July 1: Summer Drama Camp —
Encore! Theater Group of Laurinburg, held its two-week
children s drama camp on the SAPC campus. The camp is
designed to teach children about the many creative values
involved in putting on a play. And, all the participants of
the camp were part of a special play, written by Mark
Mannette, called “The Adventures of the Big Bad Wolf”
It met with great reviews!
The Buzz:
up-to-the-minute cram packed news page, for your
minute hy minute cram packed schedule! Here’s some of
what’s buzzing on campus right now!
• First SAU meeting of semesten SAU welcomed new
members Tuesday, Aug. 30 and quite a long list of activi
ties have already been planned! Look to The Lance to
report on some of them in the coming months.
• The Crucible: Auditions are underway for the fell theatre
production. Show dates are now scheduled for November
10th-13th and 17th-19th.
• Cheerleading tryouts; The tryouts were held on
Saturday, Aug. 27. The Lance was first to bring you news
of the newly formed cheerleading squad. If you are inter
ested or have any questions, contact Orianna Best at
beston@sapc.edu.
