Hopkins ’00 Director of Communications “St. Andrews is now St. Andrews University!” This announcement by St. Andrews President Paul Baldasare was made dur ing the campus’ Founders’ Day Celebration Thursday afternoon, attended by the Board of Trustees, fac ulty, staff and students. This inaugural Founders’ Day marks the 50^^ anniversary of the College’s opening and first day of classes on September 22, 1961. “In recent years, the Board of Trustees and a Faculty-StafF Task Force have studied the pros and cons of changing the college’s name to St. Andrews University,” said Baldasare. “Becoming a university is consistent with our plans to add graduate level programs to the curriculum, expand on-line educational opportunities for adult learners, and recruit and attract more international students.” Guess Who? r St. Andrews UNIVERSITY President Paul Baldasare stands in front of the St. Andrews University banner during the Founders’ Day celebration Sept. 22.
