Here’s a bit of what you may have missed since the last issue. • Saturday, September 17: Regatta 2011 — Members of the St. Andrews community continued a tradition, with groups of four or more students building their own water crafts, using them on the lake, and judging a competition of who had the best watercraft. It was all in good fiin! • Thursday, September 8, 2011: Great News about the SAU Internet Connection — Computer services informed the campus that beginning on September 13, the aging internet connection would be upgraded from 20Mbps to 50Mbps. This is a welcome change! • Thursday, September 1: First Open Mic of the Semester — The writers forum continued its long tradition of wel coming back students with an open mic, hosted by Creative Writing major Patrick J. Doyle. The Buzz: up-to-the-minute cram packed news column, for your minute by minute cram packed schedule! Here’s some of what’s buzzing on campus right now! • ‘St. Android’ as Miss Ohio!: St. Andrews is proud to have one of its own alumnus, Audrey Hayden of the class of 2011 recendy crowned as Miss Ohio! We’ll be rooting for her all the way to the Miss America pageant! • The Crucible: Preparations are underway for the St. Andrews production of The Crucible. Showed it will be November 10 through the 13th, and the 17th through the 19th. • Yearbook photos: Photos were recendy taken for the 2012 edition of the Lamp and Shield, to be released in the spring semester.
