The Lance September/October 2011 Page 7 PEOPLE Friday Night Lights, St. Andrews Style Justin McNickel ChartwelL On Friday nights you can find two members of the St. Andrews communi ty getting ready to do a radio broadcast for the Scotland High School's unde feated, #1 ranked Varsity Football Team. Richie Schueier and I cover the Fighting Scots football team each and every friday night for the hometown radio station, AM 1300 WLNC. Richie is currendy the Head men's basketball coach here at St. Andrews and I work for Chartwells foodservice. I am also the sports reporter for WLNC. Those are our main jobs and obviously we love St. Andrews, but being a part of the broadcast team is something that we cherish. Richie and I arrived at St. Andrews around the same time about seven years ago and we both have a passion for sports. The local people really enjoyed meeting these young men. Spunkiest Team- Mens Lacrosse. These guys worked hard to get every person who passed by to visit our booth. They walked the track with handwrit ten signs taped on themselves and even ran a couple laps with runners to get them in to see our donations.
