One of the most interesting fea tures was ft prize march. The prize was won by Ml“ses Martha ('obb and Donnie Singletary. To add to tho joy of the evening, punch and cakes were served. After drinking punch and e.*iting cakes until we wanted no more our attention was again called to the amusements of the evening. At 0:80 the last strains of “Home, Sweet Home” were played and we bade each other “Ron Soir.” m M m On September 28, the faculty and student body and many friends of the community enjoyed the famous picture from the novel "Ramona" by Helen Hunt .lackson. It was iiresented in the auditorium of Moore Hall. The drama was indeed thrilling and dealt with Indian life. Miss Matilda Stallings furnished music. The two songs, "Haniona" and the “Indian Love Call” were played. All seemed to have enjoyed the picture very much. • • • One of the most exciting and enjoyable events took place on October 5, when the students of State Normal school were extended an Invitation to attend the matinet! given at the (laiety The.itre. The pic ture shown was the spectacular “King of Kings.” A large number of students accepted the invitation and were glad of the opportunity to see this wonder ful picture. The picture portrayed most vividly th*} labors of Christ while on earth, his accusation, suf fering, crucifixion, and ascension. The sentiment of those who witnessed the picture is this: “If ever the opportunity to see this picture ‘King of Kings’ presents itself, grasp it.” • • « On Wednesday night, October 10, a surprise re ception party was held in the reception room of Syniera Ifall welcoming Professor and Mrs. D. K. Cherry, Misses R. P. Pryor and M. Z. Marshall to the faculty of State Normal School. Prof. D. K Cherry, formerly connected with A. & T. College of Greensboro, N. C., is now acting Dean and Misses Pryor and Marshall are two new members of the faculty who have come to Stale Normal this year ill tho capacity of ('ritic teacher and Librarian, re- hjteclively.
