Kindness, mercy, joy, love and good will toward everybody manifest themselves once more in the heart of every individual. Some of us look back regretfully >n the many joys that might have come by just being lo\ely and kind to others. Those of us who have been for saken and who have fallen in the sight of our breth ren are filled with new hoj)e; for we are beginning to feel that in God’s sight we are neither forsaken nor fallen. How wonderful it is to b(! born again! This is the true meaning of Christmas. All hatreds, jeal ousies and envies within,us will die and sunshine, love and gladnesj will take their places in the hearts of men, for Christ is born anew in our hearts. Then let us have the Spirit of Christmas, the spirit to praise (lod, to give to be joyful, to be merciful with a spirit of good will toward every one. Let the Star shine not only over P.ethlehem but over the whole world. Let the Shepherds worship the New Rorn King, the Prince of Peace. Let the Children sing Christmas Carols, which echo over every hill and dale carrying the Spirit of 'Christ mas so that the whole world may know that Christ, the Savior of the world, has come again to save the people from their sins. —P^avmond Morris. MORC.-VN Character that keeps countenance despite insult can bo seen by Character, its brother. Can you (joul- ifv? WHAT CHRISTMAS SHOl'LI) MEAN TO US Why do we celebratt! Christmas? It is a story which you all know. Over nineteen hundred years ago in the little city of Bethlehem unto Mary and Joseph was born a baby boy whom they called Christ. Biblical history tells us that wise men of the East left theii’ homes to worship him who was born in a manger. On that night the angels sang “Peace on earth. Good Will toward ]\Ien.” Since that holy night one day in each yeai' has been set aside and celebrated as Christ’s Day or Christmas. The one big lesson which comes to us from the Christ Child is the thought of giving willingly and not for the i)uipose of receiving something in j’e- turn or for worldly honors but for the pleasure that it will give others by making them happier. We should not give to the I'ich but to those who are uncertain where their next meal is coming from or how they are to keep warm during the winter. Many spirits are wounded by the manner in which things are given to them. They are made to feel that they are burdens on society and many times they would rather be without than to have things given them by haughty society leaders. Such giving is not in keeping with the Christ spirit. The PAGE 3
