RIP VAN WINKLE SLEEPS
FOR TWENTY YEARS
Miss A. E. Minga in an assembly
program on March 4 pointed out how
the modern Rip Van Winkle who had
gone to sleep in 1932 would not rec
ognize the wards in his hospital when
he awakened in 1952.
Never in the history of medicine has
so much changed so radically in
twenty years, said the speaker. The
“wonder drugs” which have brought
about these changes are the sulfona
mides, the antibiotics, the antimala-
nials drpgs and the hormone corti
sone.
A brief survey of the large impact
of these drugs on scientific research
and our national health was made by
Miss Minga.
Rosa L, Ebron
unanimously predict that this will be
a closely contested demonstration of
good basketball.
Season or session tickets may be
purchased by consulting the Tourna
ment Director.
