She come to us in 1951,
But now it looks like her best

Tillie served well, did all she

And still does the best she can,
when she should.
But time rolls on and Tillie now

Knowing that she must go to the
land of fenders and parts.
Remembering her loyal service

But we have to acknowledge,

She Has Seen Many Homecomings Come and Go!
A student wrote an article in
the STC NEWSLETTER in 1937
expressing his opinions on how
badly Elizabeth City State Nor
mal needed an activity bus.
Well, after awhile, a bright
blue and white bus, which came
to be known as "Tillie” joined
the College family. In writing
his article, the student ex
pressed his desire for the bus,
if and when it was secured, to
last for many years. And guess
what - it has... many years.
THE COMPASS now salutes
Tillie for her many years of loy
al service to the College and its
community.
