OCTOBER, 1967 THE COMPASS PAGE THREE The Marching “Vikings” Band of Elizabeth City State College entertains at their home game in Memorial Park at Elizabeth City, North Carolina. Marching Vikings Make Headlines The Elizabeth City State Col lege Marching Vikings has won great recognition for their per formances in many of the high school homecomings in this dis trict. On Friday, October 6, the Vikings put on an excellent per formance at D. F. Walker High School in Edenton, N. C. They were greatly praised for Aeir high stepping and dancing to "Knock On Wood”. On October 13, the Marching Vikings participated in the home coming activities of Southwest ern High School in Windsor, N. C. They received great applause as they stepped to the music of "Them Basses.” Other homecoming activities on their schedule include; Octo- iber 20-P. S. Jones High School, Washington; October 27-P. W. Moore High School, Elizabeth City; November 3-Washington County Union School. Roper. While entertaining during home games “Vikings” take time out to salute thei the Marching r Almo-mater.
