The concert was given at A Teachers College. The concert was very well performed, the audience loved us. Miss Johnson seemed very well pleased and after the con cert Mr. Bonn, president of the college brought all of us beers. The Germans were very warm and cor dial. The reception was held at the Stern Bier Export Clubo The Ger man beer was delicious 11 We took pictures of the people at the reception, they appeared to be very warm - hearted and friendly. After the re ception we left and they came outside in the cool to wave goodbye. They were truly beautiful peo ple, I will never forget them. After spending the night at Hotel Salm, we arose early the next day to take a drive of the Rhine River. During the drive we passed through the city of Bonn, the home of Beethoven, to learn that the city had been destroyed three times by the Franks, Romans and World War II. It was dur ing the Rhine River Drive that we saw the many castles located on the German hills (American mountains). The castle was built in 13th century. It was destroyed in 1618 and 1764.
